PATTAYA, Thailand — With Thailand taking center stage at the ASEAN-India Forum as Lead Country for Promotion and Marketing under the ASEAN-India Year of Tourism 2025, Pattaya is poised to reap the benefits of renewed focus on Indian travel.
Following the forum in Bangkok from July 22–25, delegates, including Indian tour operators and ASEAN tourism leaders, joined a technical tour to Pattaya — one of Thailand’s most popular destinations for Indian visitors. The city, known for its beachside charm, vibrant nightlife, and growing event infrastructure, is betting big on capturing a larger share of the booming Indian market, especially wedding tourism and Gen Z travel.
Indian arrivals to Thailand topped 2 million in 2024, placing India among the kingdom’s top three inbound markets. With travel trends shifting toward personalized, experience-driven holidays, Pattaya is positioning itself as a ready-made canvas for Indian family vacations, celebrations, and influencer-driven content.
“This is an opportunity for Pattaya to evolve beyond its party-town image,” said one local tourism operator. “Indian travelers are looking for everything from luxury weddings to spiritual retreats, and we can deliver that.”
Officials from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) emphasized Pattaya’s strategic location, wide accommodation range, and proven capacity to host large groups. As the ASEAN-India cooperation deepens, local businesses hope that investment in infrastructure, cultural tailoring, and digital outreach will keep Pattaya front and center in India’s travel imagination.
With the Year of Tourism 2025 gaining momentum, Pattaya’s tourism sector is watching closely — and preparing to welcome the next wave.
