PCMC MLAs Advocate For Native Landowners In Pimpri Chinchwad New Town Development Authority – Pune Media
Pimpri, 4th December 2023: In a joint effort to address the concerns of native people whose land has been acquired by the erstwhile Pimpri Chinchwad New Town Development Authority (PCNTDA), three Mahayuti MLAs have vowed to advocate for justice in the upcoming winter session.
The MLAs are optimistic about achieving success in the session, focusing on increasing the Floor Space Index (FSI) by six and a half per cent as compensation and securing the remaining compensation for land unavailability.
At a press conference organized by the Nigdi, Akurdi, Walhekarwadi Yuva Shakti Foundation, affected farmers, along with BJP MLAs Mahesh Landge and Ashwini Jagtap, NCP MLA Anna Bansode, and former corporators Shankarao Pandharkar, Kailas Kute, Sridhar Valhekar, gathered to discuss the pressing issue.
Former MLA Vilas Lande and the late MLA Laxman Jagtap had been working towards securing a 12-and-a-half per cent return for the original farmers. The MLAs have pursued this matter with the Chief Minister and now anticipate a final decision in the upcoming Nagpur session to provide relief to the affected individuals. MLA Bansode emphasized the collaborative efforts with MLAs Mahesh Landge and Ashwini Jagtap to address the issue.
MLA Ashwini Jagtap highlighted the historical context of the matter, acknowledging the efforts of past leaders and expressing confidence in the collective pursuit of a successful resolution during the winter session.
Shankarao Pandharkar, representing the affected farmers, underscored the disparity in compensation, stating that when the land was acquired, only three thousand rupees per acre were paid, while the current market rate was Rs 75 lakh per Gunther. He urged all MLAs to unite in the assembly to demand justice for the ‘Bhoomiputras’, emphasizing the need for a final decision in the upcoming session.
