PFF chief Gilani reaffirms vision for Pakistani football during Lahore visit

LAHORE  –  Syed Mohsen Gilani, newly elected President of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), paid his first official visit to the Football House in Lahore following his landmark election victory in May.

President Gilani was warmly received by Muhammad Shahid Niaz Khokhar, Acting General Secretary and Member of the Normalisation Committee (NC), along with Barrister Haris Azmat, also a member of the NC.

During the visit, President Gilani commended the PFF staff and management for conducting free, fair, and transparent elections, a milestone he described as a turning point for football in Pakistan. He reiterated his commitment to a future built on responsibility, transparency, and empowerment.

In a symbolic gesture, Gilani highlighted the guiding inspiration behind his leadership: the national flag of Pakistan and the flag of the Pakistan Football Federation. “These two flags represent our duty and our passion. The Football House must remain open to all supporters. We need to reconnect with our footballing community and promote an environment of trust, unity, and shared ambition,” he said.

Chairman of the Normalisation Committee, Saud Azim Hashimi, welcomed Gilani’s visit as a moment of significance. “President Gilani’s presence at Football House sends a powerful message of continuity and progress. We are confident that under his leadership, Pakistan football will rise to new heights.”

Echoing the sentiment, Acting General Secretary Muhammad Shahid Niaz Khokhar added: “It was an honour to welcome President Gilani. His leadership is already inspiring the team, and we are eager to support his vision of a strong, inclusive, and dynamic football ecosystem across the country.”
