Pioneer India Reduces Car Audio System Prices Following GST Rate Cut
Pioneer India Private Limited has announced revised Maximum Retail Prices (MRPs) for its car audio and infotainment systems, effective September 22, 2025, following the GST Council’s decision to reduce tax rates from 28% to 18% for automotive accessories.
The price reductions apply to the company’s range of car touch screens and audio systems under HSN code 85285900. The revised pricing reflects the 10 percentage point reduction in GST rates approved by the GST Council in its 56th meeting.
Significant Price Reductions Across Product Range
Several popular models have seen substantial price cuts. The DMH-Z5290BT/XNID model, previously priced at ₹29,990, is now available at ₹27,647, representing a reduction of ₹2,343. The entry-level MVH-G219BT/XNID has been reduced from ₹13,890 to ₹12,805, while the premium DMH-ZF9650BT/XNES model has seen its price drop from ₹1,16,590 to ₹1,07,481.
Other models in the lineup have received similar reductions, with prices adjusted to reflect the lower GST rate across the entire product range.
Pioneer India has indicated that revised labels with updated MRPs have been distributed from September 22, 2025. The company has directed its authorized partners and distributors to implement the new pricing across all sales channels from the effective date.
The company has advised consumers that during a transition period, both old and new MRP-labeled products may be available in the market.
Regulatory Compliance
The price revision notice has been issued under multiple regulatory frameworks, including the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules 2011, Consumer Protection Act 2019, and CGST Act 2017, as referenced in the government notification dated September 18, 2025.
Pioneer India stated its commitment to passing on the GST rate reduction benefits directly to end consumers, describing the reforms as providing “a strong boost to the automotive sector and related industry like car infotainment and accessories.”
The move is expected to make car audio and infotainment upgrades more accessible to consumers while supporting growth in the automotive accessories market.
