PM Drew meets officials from IMF, forming part of World Bank Spring Meetings – VON Radio
Prime Minister, the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, along with Financial Secretary Hilary Hazel and Permanent Secretary Naeemah Hazelle, met with officials from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, D.C., on Thursday April 24th.
The meeting formed part of the 2025 World Bank and IMF Spring Meetings and focused on key national and regional priorities — including Saint Kitts and Nevis’ economic reform agenda, resilience building, intra-regional trade, pension and tax reform, and financing for critical projects.
IMF is a major financial agency of the United Nation with 190 member countries, including St. Kitts & Nevis.
In more national news- while attending the 2025 World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C., Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew held a bilateral meeting with President Benedict Oramah and senior executives of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank).
Prime Minister Drew was joined by Financial Secretary Hilary Hazel, Permanent Secretary Naeemah Hazelle, and Press Secretary Javon Liburd. The meeting served as a timely opportunity to provide updates on ongoing engagements and to explore new avenues for deepening collaboration between the Caribbean and Africa, particularly in areas of trade, investment, finance, and cultural exchange.
