In his Independence Day 2025 address from the red Fort, prime minister Narendra Modi reiterated his government’s dedication to the Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) initiative, spotlighting India’s advancements in semiconductor chip manufacturing. PM Modi announced that india has accomplished what was once deemed impossible: the production of world-class semiconductor chips on indian soil. He revealed that these domestically manufactured chips will soon be available not only for local consumption but also for international markets, thereby enhancing India’s role in the global technology supply chain.
