Post Malone Discusses His Future in Country Music and Doing What Makes Him “Happy”

Although country music promoted names like Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, and Zach Top, the genre witnessed a sudden shift with Beyonce and Post Malone deciding to add their names to the list. For Malone, he released his debut album F-1 Trillion just last year. And proving his star power, the singer dominated the Billboard 200 and the Top Country charts. Embracing country music, Post Malone showed no signs of leaving as he discussed making music that he loved.

Since entering country music, Malone appeared to be made for the genre. Collaborating with Blake Shelton, Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley, Jelly Roll, Chris Stapleton, and several others on the album, the genre seemed to welcome him with open arms. Even he admitted, “I want to make sure I do things with respect. I feel honored that everyone has been accepting and patient with me.”

Post Malone Just Having Fun On New Country Album

While caring little about the money or fame, Malone appeared only interested in staying true to himself. Allowing that passion to fuel his creativity, he added, “I’ve always just tried to make music that’s true to who I am — no matter. I make what makes me happy. So to be part of something that celebrates artists for doing their own thing and pushing boundaries, that feels really special.”

As for what is next for Malone, he revealed he has spent a great deal of time in Nashville. Besides enjoying his time with Ernest, Thomas Rhett, and Hardy, he explained how they wrote nearly 35 songs. “We just have fun. We just sit and f—ing talk and make songs. And so I’m pretty excited for the new record already.”

With Malone helming his Big A** Stadium Tour and working on a new country album, the only problem the singer had was picking which songs to keep. “It’s just a matter of which ones rock, and which ones sock.” No matter which songs get picked, Malone loved the entire process, concluding, “I sit there and listen to these songs, and I usually hate listening to my music, but listening to the band play, I get so excited.”
