PPP welcomes COAS’s promotion as Field Marshal

ISLAMABAD  –   Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Tuesday congratulated Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir on promotion as the Field Martial.

PPP Parliamentarians Secretary General Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari lauded Field Martial Syed Asim Munir on the planning, strategy and success of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, a historic achievement. Under the leadership of Field Martial Syed Asim Munir, he said, the Armed Forces showed the essence of bravery and courage.

He said the Field Martial achieved a historic victory in the recent Pakistan-India war. “The Chief of Army Staff has been promoted to the rank of Field Marshal for his exemplary performance,” he added.

Separately, PPP Secretary General Muhammad Humayun Khan congratulated Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir on his promotion.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to General Syed Asim Munir on being conferred the rank of Field Marshal,” Humayun Khan said.

He added: “This prestigious position is the result of your hard work and intelligence.  The entire Pakistan including the PPP is proud of you.”

He said under the leadership of Field Martial Syed Asim Munir, the Pakistani armed forces demonstrated courage and bravery that is unforgettable.

“General Asim Munir achieved a historic victory in the recent Pakistan-India war, which is an example. Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir has been promoted to the rank of Field Marshal for exemplary performance,” he said.
