Priyanka Chopra’s Mother Reveals Why Bajirao Mastani Was Very Hard For The Actress

After becoming Miss World in 2000, Priyanka Chopra started her career as an actress with the Tamil film Thamizhan. Her first Bollywood release was The Hero: Love Story of a Spy in which she played a supporting role, and her first movie as a lead was Andaz. She has been in the industry for more than two decades and has starred in many super hit films as well as proved her mettle as a performer.

Priyanka’s role as Kashibai in Bajirao Mastani is undoubtedly one of the best performances of her career. The movie was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and it also starred Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. Now, recently, in an interview with Lehren, Priyanka’s mother, Madhu Chopra, revealed that her daughter’s performance in Barfi and Bajirao Mastani are her favourite. She also went on to reveal why Bajirao Mastani was very hard for the actress.

Madhu Chopra said, “Kashibai was very hard because there were tight shots, and it was all on the face. The expressions were everything. Sanjay (Leela) Bhansali is not an easy director, and to keep him pleased in the sense that he is satisfied with the performance, that was the target. That was something she was very focused on. There were no distractions, she would not even talk inside her van during that time.”

Well, clearly the hard work was seen on the big screens as Priyanka was simply excellent in the movie. Though she played a supporting role, she received more praises than Deepika and Ranveer, and also won multiple awards in the Best Supporting Actress category.

Priyanka’s last Hindi release was The Sky Is Pink which didn’t do a great business at the box office. But, now reportedly, she is all set to make a comeback to Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s Telugu film with Mahesh Babu. The movie will be dubbed and released in multiple languages, so PeeCee’s comeback is a pan-India film. However, it is not yet officially announced that she will be seen in the movie.
