PSG’s Presnel Kimpembe in talks to join Qatar Sports Club

Presnel Kimpembe (29), omitted from Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League squad, is closing in on a move to Qatar Sports Club, according to a report from L’Équipe.

PSG are looking to offload Kimpembe. It has been two-and-a-half years since Kimpembe suffered an Achilles injury that sidelined him for almost two whole years. Since making a return to football in 2025, the Frenchman has, however, failed to regularly feature for Les Parisiens.

He played just 76 minutes of football last season across five appearances, all of which came in the second half of the campaign. However, he has failed to stay fit, finding himself sidelined by multiple niggles across the back half of last season.

The Frenchman rejected an approach from AC Milan during the transfer window, as per L’Équipe. Many transfer windows have now closed, however, Qatar remains an option. PSG have links there, through their QSI owners, who are helping to facilitate a move. As per L’Équipe, Kimpembe is close to joining Qatar Sports Group. Talks are ongoing, and it is expected that they will give rise to an agreement before the closure of their transfer window on 16th September.
