Camp, 5th April 2023: A businessman in Pune was attacked by six men with a stone and a hockey stick in a shocking incident of road rage on April 2 at around 10:45 pm.
The victim, who runs an advertising business, was on his way to dinner in Camp from Kondhwa when six men stopped his car near Golibar Maidan Chowk, resulting in a quarrel on the road. The bikers abused the businessman and threatened him with a hockey stick, vandalizing his car on East Street.
The victim was hit on the head with a stone, causing him to lose consciousness and leaving him lying in a pool of blood on the road. The police hospitalized him at the Sassoon General Hospital for treatment.
After being discharged, the victim lodged a complaint of voluntarily causing grievous hurt and rioting.
A case has been registered under sections 326, 143, 146, 147, 148, and 427 of the Indian Penal Code.
The police are investigating CCTV cameras as the accused biker’s images have been captured and hope to apprehend them soon.
