The Qatar Chamber (QC), in cooperation with the General Authority of Customs (QAC), has launched the 33rd session of its training programme for customs brokers and representatives, reaffirming its commitment to enhancing professional skills in the customs clearance sector.

The month-long programme, which has been running since 2015, is designed to qualify customs clearance operators by deepening their understanding of customs regulations and procedures. It aims to develop the profession, improve the efficiency of practitioners, provide high-quality services to the public, and reduce congestion atQatar’s ports.

Speaking at the inauguration, Fatima Eisa Al Kuwari, head of the training and development department at Qatar Chamber, highlighted the success of the initiative over the past decade.

“Since its launch ten years ago, the programme has qualified a large number of customs representatives and brokers,” she said, praising the strong cooperation between the Chamber and the General Authority of Customs in delivering the training.

The curriculum covers a comprehensive set of topics, including preferential international trade agreements, customs procedures, tariff systems based on the harmonised code, provisions and rules of origin, customs law, and training on the Al Nadeeb electronic customs clearance system.

On successful completion, participants receive attested certificates from Qatar Chamber, enabling them to sit for the final examination conducted by the General Authority of Customs at its headquarters.

The Customs Brokers Programme has become a cornerstone of Qatar Chamber’s training efforts, equipping the Qatari business community with skilled professionals who can expedite clearance procedures and facilitate smoother trade flows through the country’s ports.

By regularly organising such training, QC continues to contribute to the professionalisation of customs services, aligning with Qatar’s broader economic development goals and its strategy to streamline trade and logistics operations.
