Quantum computing firm opens UK hub in Oxfordshire
QuEra Computing, a global leader in neutral-atom quantum computing, has opened the facility at Harwell Science and Innovation Campus.
The company has taken 3,500 square feet of space in the Tech Foundry, a new research and development centre equipped for advanced manufacturing and laboratory work.

David Williams, commercial director at Harwell Science and Innovation Campus, said: “QuEra’s new facility at Harwell represents an exciting milestone for our growing quantum cluster.
“Their work exemplifies the campus’ commitment to fostering ground breaking innovation that will shape the future of science and technology.
“We’re looking forward to supporting Quera with specialised, flexible space as they scale and advance quantum technologies.”
QuEra is collaborating with the National Quantum Computing Centre, also based at Harwell, to develop an advanced neutral-atom quantum testbed.
Ed Durkin, chief financial officer of QuEra Computing and corporate director of QuEra Computing UK, said: “Harwell is immensely helpful to us. It’s a nucleus where we enjoy access to world-class talent, vendors, customers, and suppliers.
“It’s motivating and exciting to deepen our involvement in the UK’s quantum ecosystem.”
Earlier this year, QuEra raised $230 million in a funding round led by Google and SoftBank to support its global growth ambitions.
