Raj sets tourism record with 23 cr visitors, eyes 25 cr this year
Jaipur: Rajasthan has emerged as a global tourist destination, drawing visitors with its rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks and stunning landscapes.
In 2024, the state achieved a historic milestone, surpassing 23 crore tourists, marking a significant leap in its tourism sector. This growth is attributed to strategic government policies, extensive promotional campaigns, and initiatives aimed at enhancing visitor experiences.
Following the success of 2024, the government aims to attract 25 crore tourists in 2025. The Rajasthan government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and with the vision of Deputy CM Diya Kumari, has launched several ambitious projects to boost tourism.
The “Padharo Mhare Desh” campaign has played a crucial role in elevating Rajasthan’s global appeal, attracting both domestic and international tourists.
A major boost to yearround tourism came from the campaign “No OffSeason, All-Season Tourism Season,” introduced by First India News. This initiative highlighted Rajasthan’s appeal across all seasons, encouraging tourists to visit throughout the year.
Tourist arrivals have witnessed exponential growth over the past three years.
In 2022, the state welcomed 10.87 crore tourists, which increased to 18.07 crore in 2023. In 2024, the number soared to 23.21 crore, marking a 28.44% rise. Among these, 20.72 crore were international tourists, reflecting Rajasthan’s growing appeal on the global stage.
Religious and rural tourism has seen substantial development, with pilgrimage sites such as Pushkar, Shrinathji, Khatu Shyam Ji and Ajmer Sharif attracting millions of devotees. Additionally, rural tourism initiatives have provided visitors with immersive experiences of Rajasthan’s traditional villages, local culture and heritage.
Beyond its heritage sites, Rajasthan has expanded into various tourism categories, including adventure tourism, medical tourism, film tourism, wildlife tourism and experiential tourism
Following the success of 2024, the government aims to attract 25 crore tourists in 2025.
