As domestic travelers seek luxury experiences and international tourists return, Rajasthan is set to reinforce its position as a preferred destination for culture, luxury, and leisure.Rajasthan is gearing up for its most vibrant season of the year as the state’s palaces, heritage hotels, and wildlife lodges prepare to welcome a surge of tourists and wedding parties.

Rajesh Yadav, Principal Secretary – Tourism, Art, Culture & Archaeology, Rajasthan, said that the state’s tourism sector is witnessing strong momentum, driven by domestic travel, weddings, and improved infrastructure.

“Wedding tourism and heritage experiences remain major attractions, while strong domestic demand continues to anchor our growth. We expect the state’s tourism sector to grow by 5–8 per cent this season,” said Yadav.

“Rajasthan has always been the cultural and luxury heart of India, and our recent policy interventions have further strengthened this position,” he noted.

With November and December marking the peak months for weddings and festive celebrations, hotels across Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kumbhalgarh, and Ranthambore, are reporting occupancy levels of 75–80 per cent, driven by advance bookings, destination weddings, corporate retreats, and Christmas–New Year festivities.

Yadav added that the government’s decision to declare tourism as an industry has unlocked new investment opportunities, spurred employment, and encouraged private participation in hospitality, and allied services.

“We are focusing on developing new destinations beyond traditional hubs, ensuring balanced growth across regions. Rajasthan’s proactive participation in global travel marts and MoUs signed during investor summits have boosted international visibility and confidence,” said Yadav.

Industry experts said that this period could set new benchmarks for Rajasthan’s thriving tourism economy.

“We benefit from a supportive government and a highly competitive ecosystem. While inbound arrivals may face geopolitical headwinds, domestic tourism and weddings are robust, likely driving growth of 5–8 per cent this year,” said Tarun Bansal, President of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Rajasthan.

Wedding tourism continues to be a significant revenue generator. Rajasthan’s royal palaces, luxury resorts, and heritage hotels remain top choices for both domestic and international clients. The state has cemented its reputation as India’s premier cultural and luxury travel destination, attracting visitors seeking opulent venues and immersive experiences.

Government initiatives and MoUs catalyze tourism expansion

Kuldeep Singh Chandela, President of the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR), said that the impact of government initiatives and investor confidence in transforming the tourism landscape.

Numerous MoUs signed during Rising Rajasthan have catalysed hundreds of new projects that will generate employment and attract tourists. He added that upcoming hotels and event venues are tangible indicators of sectoral expansion.

The Government of Rajasthan’s declaration of tourism as an industry has further unlocked incentives and investment opportunities. This status allows hotels, tour operators, and allied enterprises to access industrial benefits, accelerating infrastructure development and encouraging private sector participation.

Chandela also emphasised the government’s push for international outreach. Rajasthan is actively participating in major global travel marts to boost inbound tourism, while FHTR supports both domestic and international marketing campaigns. Tourism is now one of Rajasthan’s largest employment generators after mining, he added.

Transportation services have expanded, new tour operators are investing in vehicles, and trained guides are joining the industry. Development of emerging destinations ensures that tourism spreads beyond the traditional hubs.

Rajasthan: India’s top cultural & luxury destination

Mahendra Singh Rathore, President of the Rajasthan Association of Tour Operators, said that positive trends are visible across both domestic and international segments.

Following a 10–15 per cent rise in domestic tourism and a 30–35 per cent dip in inbound arrivals during October this year, inbound numbers are projected to increase 15–20 per cent in November, 2025, potentially restoring international visitor levels to last year’s standards.

From royal palaces illuminated for grand weddings to wildlife lodges fully booked for safari experiences, Rajasthan’s tourism sector is flourishing. Hoteliers, wedding planners, and tour operators are preparing for one of the busiest periods of the year, reflecting resilience, revival, and renewed optimism as the state enters its grandest season.
