Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna Starrer Races Toward ₹100 Crore, Surpasses War 2 Collections

Coolie Box Office Day 2: Rajinikanth’s new film Coolie is smashing records at the box office. The movie started its second day with an impressive India net total of ₹79.97 crore. It had already made a huge impact on opening day, which was Thursday, earning around ₹65 crore net across all languages. As per Sacnilk data, the Tamil version led the way with ₹45 crore, followed by ₹15 crore from the Telugu version, ₹4.5 crore from Hindi, and about ₹50 lakh from Kannada. On Friday, August 15, 2025, the film added another ₹11.78 crore to its overall earnings, reported TOI.

Tamil audiences have shown the most love for the film. The Tamil version recorded a strong 63.86% occupancy across theatres on Friday. Morning shows were full in cities like Chennai, Madurai, and Coimbatore, with fans packing the halls.

The Hindi version, released as ‘Coolie: The Powerhouse’ saw a 30.23% occupancy with Mumbai and Delhi performing above expectations. The Telugu version also did very well, showing a solid 68.14% occupancy on Day 2, with Andhra Pradesh and Telangana playing a big part in making Coolie a pan India hit.

Big cast added to the hype

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie features a star-packed cast that has pulled audiences from all corners of the country. Alongside Rajinikanth, the movie stars Nagarjuna Akkineni, Shruthi Haasan, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, and Aamir Khan. With such a big lineup, the film has strong appeal in multiple states and languages. The Independence Day weekend is expected to be very important for the film’s long-term run, with Sunday bookings already looking strong.
