Coolie vs War 2 collection: Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Jr NTR, Hrithik Roshan starrer War 2 were two of the most-awaited films of 2025. The two films were out in theaters on the same date, August 14, 2025. The Independence Day weekend provided an additional boost to the box office runs of the two movies. However, within a week of their release, the movies appeared to be registering different figures at the box office. And out of the two, the Tamil film has won the battle. Coolie box office collection day 9
In India, Coolie has made Rs 235 crore net (Rs 281 crore gross) as of Saturday, its 9th day in theatres. This comes mostly after the movie made Rs 194.50 crore net in its first weekend in India. However, that has been sufficient to make the movie a success.
Coolie also broke box office records in the US, UK, and Australia and was one of the top-grossing Tamil films when it first came out in most foreign markets. Coolie has made an estimated 176 crore rupees abroad in only nine days, bringing its total earnings to Rs 457 crore.
War 2 box office collection day 9
Early projections indicate that War 2 brought in Rs 208.25 crore domestically on Day 9 after earning Rs 4 crore net in all languages. With a solid opening of Rs 57.85 crore on its first Friday, the movie was predicted to break previous records. But collections have been steadily declining.
According to Sacnilk, the movie made Rs 4 crore on its 9th day in India, bringing its total earnings to Rs 208.25 crore.
About Coolie
Rajinikanth plays the main lead in the film. Simon, the main antagonist, is portrayed by Nagarjuna. The actor previously said in a statement that the movie has received a huge amount of positive feedback. Breaking records felt inevitable, and he called Coolie a “celebration of legacy and reinvention.” Aamir Khan makes a surprise appearance in the film, which also stars Shruti Haasan, Upendra, and Soubin Shahir.

Ayan Mukerji is the director and Yash Raj Films is the producer of War 2, the sequel to the 2019 movie War, which is said to have a budget of Rs 300–400 crore. In addition to Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, Kiara Advani, Ashutosh Rana, and Anil Kapoor play important parts in the film. “Things get complicated when Kabir Dhaliwal, a secret agent, is accused of betraying his nation and his former batchmate Vikram is assigned the task of finding him,” stated film database platform IMDb while describing the plot of the film.
