North India has been reeling under an intense heatwave for the past few days, as temperatures have reached dangerous levels in some parts. However, the national capital is soon going to get relief from the heatwaves as monsoon is likely to hit Delhi by the end of this month.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the southwest monsoon may enter parts of central, eastern, and northwest India between June 12 and 18. Also, it is likely to reach large parts of North India, including Delhi, between June 19 and 25. After this, it reached Mumbai on May 26, which was 16 days earlier than the normal time. It is believed that this is the earliest onset of monsoon in Mumbai in the last 75 years.
