ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Congressman Joe Morelle was honored by the Science Coalition with the “2025 Champion of Science” award. The event took place Friday, recognizing Morelle’s contributions to the field.
The Science Coalition is a nonprofit organization comprising more than 50 of the nation’s leading research universities. Both the University of Rochester and Rochester Institute of Technology jointly nominated Morelle for the award.
“Every discovery made in a lab has the potential to ripple outwards, saving lives, creating jobs, inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers,” said Morelle. “I accept this award with great humility and I do so on behalf of the students who will one day lead their own groundbreaking research projects, the professors who push the boundaries of knowledge and the communities that benefit when discoveries translate into real world change.”
