Resonia Cleans 907 kg Waste from Ubharat Beach on Environment Day
To mark World Environment Day, Resonia Limited’s Khavda IV C Transmission Project launched a large-scale beach cleanup at Ubharat Beach, located about 50 km from Surat. The initiative drew over 100 enthusiastic employees who collectively removed 907 kilograms of waste, reinforcing the company’s sustainability ethos and local environmental stewardship.
Conducted with approval from the Forest Department, the drive focused on rejuvenating the coastal environment, often plagued by the harmful effects of littering and plastic waste. Ubharat Beach, known for its natural charm and tourist appeal, also reflects the broader challenges India’s extensive 7,500 km coastline faces due to pollution and urban pressures.
Kamlesh Garg, Project Director of Khavda IV C Transmission Project, applauded the volunteers and stated:
“Resonia is deeply committed to sustainability, and we believe in translating that commitment into meaningful action. This beach cleanup wasn’t just about removing waste; but also, an opportunity for our team to engage and give back to the local community. These initiatives are crucial in inculcating environmental stewardship and encouraging sustainable practices among our employees and partners.”
This cleanup was conducted in partnership with the Drishti Foundation Trust, a nationally recognized NGO known for its impactful environmental projects. The foundation was instrumental in ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and official coordination throughout the initiative.
Dinesh Kumar Gautam, Founder of Drishti Foundation, added:
“This clean-up is part of a larger movement to recognize beaches as not merely tourist attractions, but also complex living ecosystems that serve as barometers for the environmental health of our planet. It was great to partner with Resonia’s Khavda project for this initiative.”
