Rudeboy Cautions New Artistes Against Smoking Culture in Music Videos

Nigerian music star Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy of the iconic P-Square duo, has issued a stern warning to up-and-coming artistes over the growing trend of smoking in music videos.

In a post shared via his Instagram story, Rudeboy criticized the way many young acts now feel the need to showcase themselves smoking marijuana at the start of their video shoots.

“Dear new acts, abeg, who tell una say una must smoke Igbo for camera during visuals?” he wrote. “20 seconds into the video, una don dey light up. Na your choice oh, but make sure you dey chop better food too.”

“You’re looking sick. You dey smoke around ₦50k but dey battle Indomie of ₦1k without egg. Under pressure,” he added.

Rudeboy urged younger artistes to focus more on their health and stop promoting harmful habits just to appear trendy.

He ended his message by discouraging what he described as “fake swag,” urging them to prioritize reality over appearances.
