RVC hosts regional Academic Challenge in Engineering and Science competition
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Top performing high school students compete to move on to the sectional and state competitions at the regional Academic Challenge.
The regional Academic Challenge in Engineering and Science contest took place from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the RVC Main Campus Educational Resource Center. Students could compete individually or in teams.
The academic contest includes 7 exams across different subject areas including biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, English, computer science and engineering graphics.

Each student has 40 minutes to complete the tests which range from 30 to 80 questions.
“I totally appreciate the importance of the arts but we know that students who are interested in STEM careers can certainly use a local base to get that education and to move on,” Teri Cox, Durand High School ACES coach said.
