Ryan Williams has record-breaking autograph line at Alabama football A-Day

Alabama football wide receiver Ryan Williams broke records on A-Day without even playing a down.

According to a representative from UA athletics, the rising sophomore star had “the longest line for an autograph” in recent A-Day history. Given that such sessions at Bryant-Denny Stadium are a relatively recent feature, it may have been the longest for a player ever.

Williams was seated next to teammate and “New Wave” podcast cohost Jaylen Mbakwe, pen ready to sign any photo, jersey, miscellaneous object − or child − that came his way.

There was a lengthy line to meet Crimson Tide coach Kalen DeBoer, too.

Still, DeBoer’s was nothing quite like what his WR1 had, and not once did Williams drop the smile that gleamed beneath his flashy shades.

Briskly walking down the queue of Crimson Tide faithful lined up to meet Williams took about a minute. It definitely took longer than that for the hundreds of fans who waited patiently well after A-Day’s conclusion to meet “Hollywood.”

The Mobile, Alabama, native caught 48 passes for 865 yards his freshman season in Tuscaloosa, scoring 10 total touchdowns.
