Samay Raina Announces UK-Europe Tour, Says He’ll Tackle India’s Got Latent Controversy On Stage

Comedian Samay Raina is officially staging his comeback following the controversy surrounding his show India’s Got Latent.

On Tuesday, Raina took to Instagram to announce a UK and Europe tour, hinting at a deeply personal and introspective set that will reflect on the recent turmoil in his life.

“The most testing time of my life makes for the best comedy. See you on the tour,” he wrote in an Instagram Story, confirming that the set will include references to the backlash over India’s Got Latent.

The tour kicks off in Köln (Cologne), Germany on June 5 and will travel across Europe, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, wrapping up in Sydney on July 20. The announcement was met with overwhelming excitement — Raina revealed that ticketing websites crashed due to the surge in demand.

Raina also dropped a montage video featuring highlights from his recent US and Canada tour, which he continued despite being at the centre of the India’s Got Latent storm. Team member Shubham Chawla praised Samay for persevering:

“The grit to get on stage daily when your world is upside down… Major shoutout to my brother for creating a laughter riot during the whole tour. We are so back.”

The controversy earlier this year had cast doubt over Raina’s public image, and the new tour is widely seen as his attempt to reclaim control of the narrative and connect with fans through unfiltered comedy.

Meanwhile, fellow content creator Apoorva Mukhija also sparked headlines after suggesting she might cancel her Cannes 2025 debut, citing fallout from the same controversy. “Gaali nahi khaani,” she said in response to the ongoing backlash.

Raina’s return to international stages comes with the promise of catharsis — and comedy — shaped by chaos.
