Netflix’s limited series “Below” was No. 1 on Samba’s list of top streaming programs for the week ended Oct. 18.

“Below,” which bowed Oct. 8, stars Josh Hartnett as a fisherman whose small Newfoundland hometown is terrorized by a mysterious sea creature. He teams up with a marine researcher (Mackenzie Davis) to confront the creature in an attempt to keep his family and community safe, including his son Wade (Charlie Heaton).

Down from the top spot to No. 2 was Netflix’s Animals. Ben Affleck co-wrote, directed, and stars in the thriller about a politician whose son is kidnapped. As he and his wife (Kerry Washington) scramble to raise the ransom payment, they’re forced to make choices — and reveal secrets — that could tear their world apart. Gillian Anderson and Steven Yeun co-star. It debuted Oct. 9.

No. 3 was Netflix’s “The Diplomat,” which returned for its fourth season Oct. 15. The show stars stars Keri Russell as a veteran U.S. diplomat who is unexpectedly appointed as the ambassador to the United Kingdom amid an emerging international crisis. In the fourth season, two marriages are on the verge of falling apart amid the fallout of a catastrophic international incident.

No. 4 was Prime Video’s “Carrie,” a new eight-episode adaptation of the 1974 Stephen King novel of the same name. Bowing Oct. 7, the series stars Summer H. Howell as Carrie, a secluded teenage girl who gains telekinetic powers as she is bullied at high school.
