Sameer Wankhede’s defamation suit against Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies, Netflix passed over in Delhi High Court

The Delhi High Court on Friday passed over the hearing of former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede’s Rs 2 crore defamation suit against Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Netflix, and others over his portrayal in the Netflix series The Ba**ds of Bollywood*.

Wankhede has alleged that the series contained false, malicious, and defamatory content against him. The suit also names X Corp, Google LLC, Meta Platforms, RPG Lifestyle Media, and John Doe as defendants.

He has sought damages of Rs 2 crore, which he said would be donated to the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital, along with injunctions and declarations restraining the release or broadcast of the series.

The matter will be taken up again once it is relisted.
