SBC Summit to launch Gamification Academy under Tech Academies lineup
SBC Summit 2025 will debut the Gamification Academy as part of its new Tech Academies programme, focusing on player engagement, retention, loyalty, and differentiation. The event takes place on September 16 at the Sala Tejo, MEO Arena in Lisbon.
Launched in partnership with Soft2Bet, the Gamification Academy will provide practical workshops, case studies, and panels exploring how operators can apply gamification principles more effectively. The Tech Academies also include learning streams in AI, marketing, and Web 3.0 & blockchain.
“Gamification has transformed how people interact with digital products across industries, and iGaming is no exception,” said Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC.
“Players now expect fun, engaging, and rewarding experiences, and that’s exactly what gamification delivers. The Gamification Academy will show the industry how to apply these proven principles to build deeper connections, keep players returning, and create more meaningful player journeys,” he said.
The programme opens with an Introduction to Gamification & Player Engagement workshop led by Yoel Zuckerberg, Chief Product Officer of Soft2Bet.
A panel on Why Personalisation is the Key to Retention will feature Toni Jermaniš (SofaScore), Josh Jones (Rise & Hustle), and Alec Gehlot (Optimove), moderated by Martin Collins of Soft2Bet.
Case studies will provide real-world lessons on gamification. Baking in Gamification During Design, led by Alexis Wicen, CEO of Scatters Group, will examine how to embed gamified features while preserving brand authenticity. The Metrics of Gamification, presented by Uri Admon, CEO of Captain Up, will look at how to measure gamification’s impact on retention, loyalty, engagement, revenue, and player enjoyment.
The Academy will close with The Five Steps of Gamification, a panel hosted by Alon Eshed of Soft2Bet, joined by Helen Walton (G Games), David Olim (FootAR), and Tom Jang Lemke (SavageTech). The session will outline building blocks such as rewards, progression, competition, and storytelling.
The Gamification Academy is part of SBC Summit 2025, the organiser’s global flagship event running Sept. 16–18 at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa and MEO Arena. The summit will also feature a six-track conference, a 135,000-square-metre exhibition, the Affiliate Leaders Summit, the Payment Expert Summit, and a full schedule of networking events.
