Schiphol opens its first Louis Vuitton store
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol opened its first Louis Vuitton store in Lounge 2 on 27 May.
The opening marks a new milestone in Schiphol’s transformation to improve the passenger experience at the airport.
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol Chief Commercial Officer, Arthur Reijnhart said: “Schiphol is investing heavily to offer travellers a unique and improved experience at the airport. The entire commercial offering is being revamped: we are substantially improving the Food and Beverage offering, the duty free shops are being refurbished and in the luxury segment we are opening beautiful new stores with the best brands in the world. In this way, we are transforming Schiphol into a home port for world travellers.
“The arrival of Louis Vuitton is a major milestone for Schiphol. Lounge 2 is the shopping area for intercontinental travellers and is considered one of the most beautiful places at Schiphol. The opening of the stunningly designed Louis Vuitton store is the first in a series of new store openings in Lounge 2 that our travellers will see in the coming period. We are extremely pleased that the intensive collaboration with Louis Vuitton has led to this unique result.”
Covering over 200sqm, the store is characterised by a modern design that reflects Louis Vuitton’s elegance and innovation. Travellers can discover the brand’s travel collections, leather goods, accessories, shoes and fragrances.
To mark this store opening, the brand is introducing a new and exclusive stamp design that allows travellers to personalise their Louis Vuitton leather goods, such as a passport case, as a collectible item for the modern traveller.
Upon entering, travellers will also see a selection of artwork, including a colourful totem by Florencia Vual (Galerie Glustin) that incorporates work by Dutch artist Hadassa Emmerich.
