Science as subject first introduced in elementary grades – Education Minister

AKIPRESS.COM – Science as a subject has been introduced in elementary grades for the first time, Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbayeva said.

According to her, previously this subject was “natural history”.

“Natural sciences have been brought into line with world standards. Now our children will be taught the same subjects as children in 150 countries around the world. This year, we are focusing on natural sciences. For example, if previously there was only an hour a week for these subjects, now we have added an additional 2 hours,” she noted.

Today, teachers of natural sciences – chemists, physicists, mathematicians – do not want to work in schools since there are not enough hours.

“We will create conditions for them. We will train specialists in technological areas,” Kendirbaeva added.
