Science saves the day in school production of SpongeBob The Musical
The gymnasium at St. Davids School was transformed into a vibrant underwater world as students staged a lively two-day run of The SpongeBob production.
St. Davids School just wrapped a two-day run of The SpongeBob Musical.
Based on the SpongeBob series created by Stephen Hillenburg and conceived by Tina Landau, it tells the story of a community banding together to save their underwater town from a looming volcanic eruption.
The ensemble cast was wonderful, with up to 40 actors coordinated on stage at various times. The sets were bright, colourful and inventive — glowing umbrella jellyfish and neon costumes transformed the school gym into fictional underwater Bikini Bottom, with the lead actors singing and dancing their hearts out.

Led by teacher and musical director Sharon Heidebrecht, the show was a singing, dancing sensation!
Parents, siblings, grandparents and friends came out to enthusiastically support all involved. And since we never really ever grow up in the eyes of our parents, seated next to me near the front row was Carl’s mom. Carl is better known as Principal Glauser. Ms. Glauser attended to support her son and the work he does for the St. Davids School community. It was a true family affair and if you had a ticket consider yourself lucky.
Congratulations to Glauser, Heidebrecht and the entire cast and crew of The SpongeBob Musical.
