Selena Gomez is in between filmed projects at the moment. She just stopped promoting Emilia Perez, the Netflix musical that won several Academy Awards at this year’s ceremony. Fans are still enjoying Only Murders in the Building and are excited for the future of the Hulu series. As the world waits to see more of the actress and singer, she has a new album on the way—one that produces another smash as of this week.

Selena Gomez’s New Top 40 Single

“Call Me When You Break Up,” Gomez’s new collaborative single with her fiancé Benny Blanco and fellow singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams, becomes a hit in the United Kingdom this frame. The tune debuts on four rankings this time around, cracking the top 40 on half of them.

The joint effort opens highest on the Official Singles chart. It’s notable that the track launches at No. 28 on the list of the most-consumed songs throughout the U.K., as it doesn’t perform quite as well when it comes to either streams or sales, both of which factor into where a title lands on the all-encompassing consumption roster.

Selena Gomez’s New Single is a Bestseller

“Call Me When You Break Up” is also new to the top 40 on the Official Singles Downloads chart. On that tally, the cut barely manages to make space inside the region that typically defines when a charting tune becomes a hit, as it kicks off its time at No. 39.

The same new release brings Gomez, Blanco, and Abrams to two other rosters across the pond, though it doesn’t quite manage to make a home inside the top 40. “Call Me When You Break Up” is new to the Official Singles Sales chart at No. 43, as well as the Official Streaming chart, where it comes in at No. 54.

Selena Gomez’s Return to Music

“Call Me When You Break Up” marks Gomez’s first new hit in almost exactly a year. The last time she debuted a tune anywhere on the Official Singles chart was in March 2024, when her song “Love On” managed a single frame at No. 61 before disappearing.

Gracie Abrams’ Winning Streak Continues

Abrams has been riding high lately on several successful cuts from her album The Secret of Us. The latest tune from that set, “If That’s So True,” hit No. 1 not long ago in the U.K., after debuting on the Official Singles ranking in late October of last year.

Benny Blanco’s Musical Comeback

It’s been a while since Benny Blanco earned a hit under his name in the United Kingdom. He joined rappers Juice WRLD and Eminem on the track “Lace It,” which was fronted by the late emo rapper and was released years after his passing. That tune barely managed to find space on the Official Singles chart, appearing for one frame at No. 95 on the 100-spot roster.

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s Joint Album

“Call Me When You Break Up” is the first promoted single from Gomez and Blanco’s album, I Said I Love You First. That project, which details the two artists’ love story, is coming on March 21 and features contributions from music industry bigwigs like Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels, and Finneas.
