Fans of the actor have been waiting for any updates on Prithviraj Sukumaran and Vipin Das’ upcoming movie, Santhosh Trophy, ever since it was announced. There are now rumours that the film’s production will start shortly. 

Santhosh Trophy’s latest update

According to reports, Santhosh Trophy’s filming will begin in September. On the other hand, the producers of Prithviraj’s next film, Khalifa, have stated that they would begin production in London on August 6. It is unknown if the actor would be filming for the Santhosh Trophy after finishing Khalifa’s London schedule.

In an interview with The Cue last year, Vipin Das disclosed that he and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s project would start in 2024. However, for unspecified reasons, it was postponed. Apart from the fun aspects of Vipin’s earlier films, Vaazha – Biopic of a Billion Boys and Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, the director said the movie will mostly star a group of newbies. Since Vipin’s previous flicks were praised for their humorous storytelling style, there are high expectations for this one.

Prithviraj, Khalifa

The actor most recently starred in his third directorial L2: Empuraan. Despite all the controversy following its theatrical release, the sequel to the 2019 movie Lucifer was a huge success in box office. The film is currently available for streaming on OTTplay Premium and JioHotstar. Nobody, which also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu and is directed by Nissam Basheer, is another upcoming Malayalam movie starring Prithviraj. The big-budget movie Khalifa is directed by Vysakh. His another film, Vilayath Buddha, is expected to hit the big screen this year.

Prithviraj is now all set for the premiere of his Hindi film, Sarzameen, which also has Ibrahim Ali Khan and Kajol playing important roles. The film, which is set against the backdrop of Kashmir, will be available on OTTplay Premium and JioHotstar from 12 am on July 25. In addition, Prithviraj is a part of SSMB29, an untitled film directed by Telugu filmmaker SS Rajamouli and starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in lead roles.
