‘Silo’ Season 3 Wraps Filming With Fun Rebecca Fergusson BTS Image
One of AppleTV+’s most talked-about apocalyptic shows just took a huge step towards its return to screens. Led by an all-star cast including Rebecca Ferguson
and Tim Robbins, Silo
delivered huge viewership for the streamer when it debuted in 2023, and the second season continued to build an audience for the mystery series set in a toxic future where communities exist in huge underground bunkers called Silos. Now, a new social media post has confirmed that Season 3 has now wrapped.
Including a celebratory behind-the-scenes image of Fergusson, the post confirms that the new season is in the can, and now the hefty amount of post-production can begin. Currently, there has been no word on when fans can expect to see Season 3 debut on the platform, but chances are it will be some time early in 2026. For those who need a reminder, the premise of Silo is:
“In a ruined and toxic future, a community exists in a giant underground silo that plunges hundreds of stories deep; there, people live in a society full of regulations they believe are meant to protect them.”

This Mysterious Concept in ‘Silo’ Is Nowhere to Be Found in the Books
What is The Syndrome illness in ‘Silo,’ and how does it set up Season 2’s story events?
AppleTV+ has made a niche for itself as the go-to streamer for fantastic, original content. Alongside the likes of Severance, Slow Horses, and movies such as Wolfs and The Gorge, Silo scored well with critics, but its audience reactions were a little muted, as some found the slow-burn drama a bit too slow for them. However, with a definite plan in place to tell the complete story across four seasons, fans have been able to enjoy the story without worrying that it is about to be canceled early.
‘Silo’ Is About Character Development and Story Over Action
If you are looking to compare apples and pears, or Apple and Netflix to be more precise, then AppleTV+’s dedication to telling complete stories, regardless of the cost and time taken, is a good starting point. Silo’s dedication to developing its characters, and the pre-determined plan to deliver the entire story – from the “Wool” books by Hugh Howey – mean that audiences looking for a deep, and engaging story can always rely on AppleTV+ to give them exactly what they are looking for.
While other streamers such as Netflix and Prime Video have filled their library with hundreds of licensed shows and movies, AppleTV+ has always concentrated on their original content – and good original content at that. This generally means slow-burn drama being favored over bombastic and special effects-driven spectacles. While this has produced some incredible, riveting shows, the downside is that reports have suggested AppleTV+ is not as profitable as it could be and has often been losing money due to the high production costs of many of its originals.
However, those who subscribe to AppleTV+ have been spoiled with some quality entertainment, and it is set to continue with Silo Season 3. Expect to see more about the penultimate season as its release approaches.
