Air India has introduced ‘ZipAhead,’ a paid service offering priority check-in and baggage handling for Economy Class passengers on domestic flights. The service aims to provide a seamless airport experience for time-conscious travellers who do not typically qualify for priority services.
Benefits of ‘ZipAhead’
Passengers opting for ‘ZipAhead’ can check in at Air India’s dedicated Premium Economy counters, allowing for faster processing at airports. Additionally, their baggage will receive priority handling, ensuring quicker retrieval upon arrival.
The ‘ZipAhead’ service is currently available at six major Indian airports: Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru and Kolkata.
The pricing is structured as follows:
Rs 499 – If purchased more than six hours before departure
Rs 699 – If purchased within six hours of departure
Passengers can book ‘ZipAhead’ up to 75 minutes before departure via Air India’s website, mobile app, airport ticketing offices (ATO), and customer contact centre.
Complimentary service
Platinum and Gold members of Air India’s Maharaja Club loyalty programme will continue to enjoy priority check-in and baggage handling at no additional cost, regardless of their travel class.
With ‘ZipAhead,’ Air India aims to enhance the overall travel experience for passengers looking to minimize wait times at key airport touchpoints.
