Solo Leveling’s Official Voice of Sung Jinwoo Talks New Movie’s ‘Biggest Testament’: IMAX
Aleks Le, the official English-language voice actor for Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling, recently shared his excitement for his new film, describing its IMAX release as the “biggest testament” to the culmination of his journey with the franchise.
Le has received significant recognition recently for his role as the protagonist Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling, even winning an award for Best Lead Voice-over Performance at the 2025 Astra Awards. However, the current buzz surrounds his return as Zenitsu Agatsuma in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, which is set to storm U.S. theaters on Sept. 12. The film has already become a box-office phenomenon in Japan since its July release and is poised to break records in the United States. Speaking with CBR ahead of the premiere, Le and co-star Alejandro Saab, the voice of Kaigaku, discussed their long-awaited on-screen confrontation and why this film feels like a monumental achievement in their careers.

While Le and Saab have collaborated on projects over the years, Le feels this film marks a significant shift in their dynamic. “This is the first time we’ve kind of been put together in a super like, stylish and serious way,” Le said, highlighting the movie’s gravity. He pointed to the large-format release as proof of the project’s scale, exclaiming, “We’re going to be in IMAX! We’ve never been in IMAX together before.” Saab agreed, calling this their “most intense” pairing yet. Le concluded that compared to their past minor collaborations, the IMAX release is the “biggest testament” to the importance of this on-screen moment.
For Le, this film represents the culmination of a six-year journey with the character Zenitsu — one that has run parallel to his own growth as an actor. Having landed the role early in his career, he identified with the character’s initial insecurities and feels his own accumulated experience over the years has perfectly prepared him to do justice to this specific, long-awaited story arc. In addition, the film marks a significant milestone for his professional pairing with Saab.
Le and Saab have a history of being cast together, with one notable prior project being JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind. Le noted that their friendship has strengthened over time, which he feels was crucial for them to properly portray their characters’ complex relationship and act more efficiently off one another. Due to this, Le feels that the movie is a “statement — not only personally, to each of us, but also how far we’ve both come as this pair.”
The role is one of several major projects for Le in a short span, marking his third big anime film in under a year. When asked how he manages the demanding schedule, he candidly admitted that he was barely sleeping and was very tired. But, despite the workload, he remains enthusiastic. “I will tell you that it is always super exciting, and it is always fun. And this one I’ve been looking forward to for a very, very long time… I feel that this is my last big task for the year. I think.”
