The minister is conducting a grievance redressal forum at SPPU from 11 am till 5pm today. Till now, such darbars have been held by Samant at Nagpur, Nanded, Kolhapur, Solapur and Gadchiroli. Accordingly, the darbar today is open to people from Pune, Ahmednagar and Nashik districts to solve the problems related to the departments of Higher and Technical Education, Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell, Directorate of Technical Education, Directorate of Higher Education, Directorate of Arts and Library.
The MoU between Qatar government and SPPU was inked in 2019 and since then the project has been dragging on.
Samant also announced that a centre for Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University would open in Pune for which Rs 15 crore funding will be earmarked.
Officials informed that about 4700 grievances were received online from people out of which 86% were solved in the last one week. The remaining 14% grievances will be solved physically at the meeting being held today, informed officials.
