Star Wars Movie Title Announced

The future of Star Wars is finally revealed – with Lucasfilm announcing X for December 2025.

Lucasfilm has finally announced that the December 2025 Star Wars movie is x. The last few years have seen Star Wars transform into a trailblazing transmedia franchise, with an ever-expanding number of Disney+ TV shows such as The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ahsoka. The Star Wars movies, however, have been on hiatus since the end of the sequel trilogy and the shutdown of the anthology projects. Still, Lucasfilm reserved a release date of December 19, 2025, and there have been reports the studio intend to “ramp up” Star Wars movies. That naturally meant attendees to Star Wars Celebration 2023 expected an announcement.

Speaking at the Star Wars Celebration Lucasfilm Studio Panel, Kathleen Kennedy revealed there will be 3 new Star Wars movies set over 5,000 years. One is Dawn of the Jedi, which will be directed by James Mangold.
