Stella Maris Academy Unveils New Science Wing
DULUTH, Minn. — Stella Maris Academy High School has completed phase two in its renovation process, which includes a state of the art science wing.
The campus has been undergoing renovations since its purchase four years ago.
Phase one in the improvements included remodeling general classrooms, and the now completed phase two consisted of the science wing.
A ribbon cutting was held Friday morning to unveil the new science labs.
“Growing into High School there’s the intentionality and the depth of the disciplinaries, especially in the sciences that really require specialized equipment and tools for teachers to do what that need to do to form their students,” said Andrew Hilliker, Stella Maris Academy President.
The renovations aren’t stopping just yet, as the upcoming phase three includes upgrades to more facilities.
“We know what we need not just for next year but for five years from now, and that includes additional classroom spaces for our growing enrollment but also extracurricular activities for sports and fine arts,” said Hilliker.
High School Students will move into the chemistry, biology and physics labs on Monday.
There will also be an open house event on January 30th for the community to view the renovations .
