52 year-old Deblaise will report directly to Francois Provost, Renault Group Chief of Procurement, Partnerships and Public Affairs Officer.

Renault Group has announced the appointment of Stephane Deblaise as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Renault India, effective from September 1, 2025. The move marks a significant development in Renault’s long-term strategy for the Indian market. 

In his new role, Deblaise will be responsible for leading all Renault Group entities in India and will directly report to Francois Provost, the Group’s Chief of Procurement, Partnerships and Public Affairs. Renault veteran Venkatram Mamillapalle, currently Managing Director of Renault India Private Limited (RIPL), will continue to support Deblaise on corporate affairs to help craft and implement Renault’s mid-term growth strategy in India. 

This dual-leadership approach underlines Renault’s commitment to consolidating its presence and accelerating its expansion in one of the world’s most competitive automotive markets.

Stephane Deblaise leadership experience

Stephane Deblaise brings over 25 years of industry experience and has held numerous strategic roles across Renault’s global operations. A graduate of Telecom Physique Strasbourg and IFP School, Deblaise began his career at Saft Batteries before joining Renault in 2000. Since then, he has led various high-impact projects including roles as Chief Vehicle Engineer for Latin America, Vice President of Product Planning in China, and Program Director in France.

Most recently, Deblaise served as CEO of Renault Korea, where he successfully transformed the company into a global development and production hub for mid- and large-sized vehicles. He also spearheaded the modernization of the Busan plant to support multi-energy vehicle production.

With a manufacturing capacity of 480,000 units annually and an expansive network of over 350 sales and 450 service touchpoints, Renault India is poised for its next growth phase under Deblaise’s leadership.

Renault other developments

This development comes just a couple of days before Renault launches the Triber facelift in India. The facelifted Triber is slated to launch on 23 July 2025 and is expected to receive several updates over the previous model. This will be the first major update for the subcompact MPV ever since it was first launched in 2019. 

Globally as well, Renault has witnessed top managerial changes. Last month, the French carmaker confirmed that Luca de Meo decided to step down from the role of company CEO in order to pursue new challenges outside the automotive sector. He was replaced by Duncan Minto as the interim CEO effective from 15 July 2025 until the appointment of the new CEO is confirmed.
