Suzuki Unveils GSX-8R EVO For Europe – India Launch To Follow Soon?
Suzuki has pulled the wraps off the new GSX-8R EVO, a sharper and more performance-focused version of the standard GSX-8R. Unveiled for the European market, this new variant packs several mechanical and cosmetic upgrades.
At the heart of the GSX-8R EVO sits a 776cc parallel-twin engine that uses Suzuki’s Cross Balancer technology for smoother power delivery. It produces 82 hp and 78 Nm of torque and is paired with a six-speed gearbox. The bike also gets a bi-directional quickshifter, letting riders shift gears up or down without using the clutch.
One of the biggest talking points is the factory-fitted Akrapovic exhaust system. Apart from reducing weight and giving the bike a meaner soundtrack, it also adds to the EVO’s visual appeal. Suzuki has also swapped out the pillion seat for a colour-matched single-seat cowl, giving it a pure supersport look. A special tank pad has been added to protect the paint.
On the features front, the GSX-8R EVO is equipped with Suzuki’s Intelligent Ride System (SIRS). It includes a three-level traction control system that can be turned off, a ride-by-wire throttle for precise inputs, and three selectable riding modes. There’s also Low RPM Assist, which helps prevent stalling during slow-speed rides.
Underneath, the EVO carries a strong chassis setup with a steel frame and an aluminium swingarm. The suspension hardware has been upgraded to fully adjustable Showa upside-down forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear, offering riders the flexibility to fine-tune their setup for better handling and comfort.
For now, the Suzuki GSX-8R EVO is limited to Europe. So far, there is no official word from Suzuki on whether they will bring this motorcycle to India. If launched, it would sit above the standard GSX-8R.
