TAFI North India hosts bi-monthly meeting, announces expansion plans and strategic partnerships, ET TravelWorld


The Northern India Chapter of the Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) convened its bi-monthly meeting at The Park, New Delhi, on 20th March 2025, with over 85 travel trade professionals in attendance. The event was marked by strategic discussions on industry growth, new partnerships, and member empowerment.

Chairman Khushvinder Sarna opened the meeting by highlighting TAFI’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its network and expanding its reach. The meeting began with a tribute to the late Vijay Gupta, former Chairman of TAFI North India, acknowledging his invaluable contributions to the fraternity.

Key highlights from the Chairman’s report included the formation of the Punjab Chapter, with Rajeshwar Dang appointed as City Convener. Expansion plans were also unveiled for new chapters in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Sarna shared insights from a meeting with the UAE Ambassador, who reaffirmed strong support for Indian travel professionals, further bolstering TAFI’s international standing.

The meeting also celebrated TAFI North India’s active role at the TAFI Convention in Vietnam in January 2025, where it was represented by one of the largest contingents, including strong participation from Punjab agents.

Strategic partnerships were announced, including a collaboration with Indo Global Tourism for an event on 16th April at Novotel, Chandigarh, and an agreement with TTJ TravMart, offering TAFI members special rates for upcoming events.

In addition, members participated in insightful knowledge sessions. Rai Achal Krishna, National Joint Treasurer, shared details about TAFI’s partnership with VFS Global for enhanced visa processing. Tarun from Aseago presented on travel insurance solutions, while Karan from DreamFolks introduced premium travel services for agents. Jasminder Wadhwa from PRAVEG LIMITED showcased luxury properties and conducted a quiz, with winners receiving stay vouchers.

The evening concluded with a networking session, offering members an opportunity to engage over cocktails and dinner. TAFI continues to focus on innovation and excellence in the travel industry, supporting its members and furthering the growth of India’s travel sector.
