India-based automakers are not only giving cutthroat competition to the global manufacturers but are also setting new records lately. One such record was set by Tata Nexon EV MAX, a few days ago as the electric car managed to get its name inscribed on the India Book of Records for scaling the world’s highest motorable road at Umling La pass, Ladakh.

A team of expert drivers completed this extremely challenging journey from Leh to Umling La pass (Ladakh) situated at 19,024 ft. above sea level on September 18th. The SUV was said to be loaded with the brand’s state-of-the-art Ziptron technology making it reliable on such diverse terrain. Thankfully, the ‘Make in India’ tag further makes this feat more interesting.
Tata Motors has been the front runner when it comes to the personal EV segment since 2020 and lately, they have delivered more than 40,000 EVs of which around 30,000 units were Nexon itself.
Power on the Nexon EV MAX is derived from a 40.5kWh lithium-ion battery that ultimately works in conjunction with a 143PS electric motor. The torque output from the same stands at 250Nm making a 0-100kmph sprint possible in just 9 seconds. For an unmatched experience, a battery with higher capacity has been introduced making it a complete package overall.
Coming to the features, the SUV that went to complete this challenging journey was equipped with an auto vehicle hold, auto-dimming IRVM, electronic parking brake, hill descent control, ESP with i-VBAC, etc to name a few.
