TCS and C-DAC Join Hands to Build India’s Sovereign AI Cloud

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has signed a landmark MoU with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) to develop India’s sovereign cloud ecosystem. The collaboration focuses on building secure, scalable, and AI enabled cloud platforms that align with India’s digital priorities and data localization rules.
The initiative is expected to play a critical role in the digital transformation of public sector services. By integrating indigenous innovations from C-DAC into TCS’ enterprise ready sovereign cloud stack, the project will help protect sensitive national data while enabling next generation applications.
Girish Ramachandran, President of Growth Markets, TCS, said “We are combining local R&D, public sector infrastructure, and enterprise expertise to deliver future ready cloud platforms for a digitally empowered India”. The partnership represents a strong step toward India’s sovereign cloud goals.
C-DAC Director General, Magesh Ethirajan said “By bringing together C-DAC’s innovation with TCS’ industry presence, we aim to accelerate the development and deployment of sovereign cloud technologies”. He emphasized that the partnership will focus on long term sustainability.

The sovereign cloud is expected to support critical government applications like e-Sanjeevani, Dial 112, and digital operations across central ministries. For the private sector, it will drive adoption in areas such as healthcare, defence, smart cities, manufacturing, and BFSI, ensuring secure and efficient cloud performance.
This collaboration strengthens India’s vision of digital sovereignty, making the nation less dependent on foreign infrastructure while opening opportunities for AI enabled innovations and enterprise growth.
