Texas A&M Football Lands Concepcion on Paul Hornung Watch List – WTAW

LOUISVILLE – Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion has been selected to the preseason watch list for the Paul Hornung Award, presented by Texas Roadhouse, which is an honor presented to the most versatile player in major college football.

Concepcion joined the Aggies in the spring after spending the previous two seasons at NC State, earning 2023 ACC Rookie and Offensive Rookie of the Year honors as well as Freshman All-America recognition from five different outlets including the Football Writers Association of America. In two years with the Wolfpack, Concepcion totaled 124 catches for 1,299 yards (10.48) with 16 touchdowns, while adding 356 rushing yards on 60 carries (5.9) and two scores.

As a true freshman in 2023, he played in all 12 games, making 11 starts, and set the NC State freshman records with 71 receptions for 839 yards and 10 touchdowns. His season touchdown mark tied for the national lead among freshman, while his receptions and yards ranked second in the county for rookies.

For his career, the Charlotte, N.C., native is averaging 5.3 catches per game against teams ranked in the Associated Press top 25.

Now in its 16th season, the Paul Hornung Award is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission in memory of the late football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung. The winner and his family will be honored at the annual Paul Hornung Award dinner March 2026 at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville, Ky.

The players on this year’s watch list represent 46 different schools and last season combined for more than 42,000 total yards and 266 touchdowns rushing, receiving, passing and returning kicks and punts. The majority of the players on the watch list play offensive skill positions and are return specialists; three players are defensive backs and return specialists; and there are several players who play both offense and defense.
