The Speaker of the Lower House of the Indian Parliament invited Shalva Papuashvili to India
The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, met with the Speaker of the Lower House—Lok Sabha—of the Parliament of the Republic of India, Om Birla. The information was released by the Parliament of Georgia.
According to the same source, the two sides discussed the close and friendly relations between Georgia and the Republic of India. “Shalva Papuashvili positively assessed the opening of the Indian Embassy in Georgia.”
They also discussed opportunities to deepen interparliamentary ties and sectoral cooperation between the two countries, including in the fields of trade, tourism, education, and technology.
Om Birla highlighted the Indian Parliament’s valuable experience in implementing digital technologies and expressed readiness to share this experience. As noted in the statement, “Om Birla invited Shalva Papuashvili to the Republic of India.”
The meeting took place in Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan, within the framework of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
