A new event series designed to tackle workforce challenges and strengthen connections between employers, talent and opportunity is launching in this November.
Developed by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Glasgow Employment and Skills Board and yattle, The Workforce Exchange will bring together HR leaders, people professionals and employers to explore practical solutions to the issues shaping today’s labour market.
Created in response to the rapidly changing world of work, the series provides a platform for businesses to connect, share experiences and learn from experts. Economic pressures, changing workforce expectations and evolving employment legislation are creating new challenges for organisations as they look to attract, support and retain talent. At the same time, a growing disconnect between employer needs and available talent continues to impact businesses across many sectors.
With more than one million young people across the UK currently not in education, employment or training, while employers continue to report skills shortages and hiring struggles, there is an increasing need for collaboration between employers, educators and workforce partners to close the gap.
Through expert insight, open discussion and shared learning, The Workforce Exchange will create a space for honest conversations about workforce transformation and the future of employment in Glasgow. Each event will focus on key themes across recruitment, skills and employment law, providing attendees with practical takeaways, learning opportunities and valuable networking in an informal setting.
Importantly, all Workforce Exchange events will be free to attend, ensuring employers of all sizes can access expertise and contribute to shaping a stronger, more inclusive labour market.
First Event: Right CV, Wrong Era: The Hidden Cost of Getting Leadership Wrong in the Age of AI
The inaugural Workforce Exchange session will take place in November and welcomes Fractionauts and Point Six One Eight (P618).
This interactive session will explore how organisations can access the leadership talent they need for the future, whether through permanent appointments, fractional leadership models or specialist expertise. Speakers will discuss the opportunities presented by AI, how leadership expectations are changing, and why organisations that embrace innovation and adaptability are best placed to succeed.
Drawing on extensive experience across commercial, marketing, sales, HR and leadership roles, the session will challenge conventional thinking and provide practical insights for employers looking to strengthen their leadership capability.

Drawing on more than a decade leading CIPD in Scotland, she is passionate about helping employers look beyond the CV to identify leaders capable of navigating change, building high-performing teams and creating environments where people and businesses can thrive.
Attendees will:

- Explore how AI is changing what organisations need from senior leaders.
- Rethink traditional approaches to leadership hiring and talent acquisition.
- Leave with practical ideas to help future-proof leadership strategies and workforce planning.
By bringing together employers, workforce specialists and industry experts, The Workforce Exchange aims to spark new thinking, encourage collaboration and help organisations build the workforce they need for the future.
