Tom Mehrtens appointed as director of music at Satellite414 | Media
Independent entertainment consultancy Satellite414 has today (June 10) announced that Tom Mehrtens has been appointed as director of music, effective immediately.
Mehrtens began working with Satellite414 founder/CEO Carl Fysh in 2011 (when the company was part of Purple) and progressed from there to become a publicist. While at Satellite414, they progressed from senior publicist to head of music & entertainment.
As director of music, Mehrtens’ new role will involve nurturing the joint venture Satellite414 have with commercial agency, Parallel. They will also be putting a focus on new business for the music side of the company.

Speaking about the appointment, Satellite414 founder/CEO Carl Fysh said: “I am extremely proud to announce that Tom Mehrtens has been promoted to director of music here at Satellite414. Starting as an intern, they have worked consistently, building and growing as a publicist. As well as working alongside me with Beyoncé, they have also nurtured a considerable roster of groundbreaking LGTBQIA+ artists and clients including Chappell Roan, Munroe Bergdorf, Rina Sawayama and Pablo Vittar as well as a variety of other incredible artists including Chloe Qisha, Yaeji, Jerksin Fendrix and Eartheater.”

Tom Mehrtens added: “I’m over the moon to be taking on the new role of director of music at Satellite414. Last month, Lancashire-born artist Tom Rasmussen and Tom Mehrtens, with support from Olly Alexander and his manager and founder of Kindred Management Martha Kinn, penned an open letter showing solidarity with the trans community.
Among those who have signed the letter are Charli XCX, Jade, Rina Sawayama, Jessie Ware, Self Esteem and Wolf Alice, along with a host of other key music industry figures.
