Tovino Thomas’ film set for a solid second week after beating Identity
Narivetta box office collection day 8: Tovino Thomas’ Narivetta, directed by Anuraj Manohar, has entered its second week after beating the star’s previous film Identity. The film, which also stars Theevandi actor Suraj Venjaramoodu and Cheran in key roles, has made Rs 19 crore in its first week at the box office, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. Here’s a breakdown of Tovino Thomas-starrer Narivetta.
Tovino Thomas’ Narivetta box office collection
Tovino Thomas’ Narivetta, which released in theatres on May 23, 2025, to positive reviews, minted Rs 19 crore in worldwide collections. With this, Narivetta has surpassed Identity, Tovino’s first release of 2025, which made around Rs 16.9 crore, as per Sacnilk. For the unversed, Identity stars Tovino along with Ghilli actor Trisha Krishnan and Vinay Rai.
Identity
Narivetta made Rs 1.65 crore on its opening day. The film performed well in its first weekend, with Rs 1.85 crore and Rs 2.25 crore earned on first Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The following days also saw good footfalls but there was a dip mid-week, probably owing to the heavy rainfall in Kerala. Now, as the film enters its second week at the ticket window, things look promising as Narivetta continues to get positive feedback for its realistic narration.
There are no major Malayalam releases in the coming week, giving a clear advantage for Narivetta. The only major release in the next week is Kamal Haasan-Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film Thug Life, which hits theatres on Jun 5, 2025.

The other Malayalam films competing at the ticket window are Dhyan Sreenivasan’s Detective Ujjwalan, which also released on May 23. Though Dhyan’s film garnered mixed to positive reviews, it has not been able to be a major crowd puller.
Dileep’s Prince and Family, and Suraj Venjaramoodu and Sharafudheen’s Padakkalam, that released in May second week, are still being screened. Mohanlal’s blockbuster, Thudarum, is also still running in some theatres despite Tharun Moorthy’s film landing on OTT.
