Training Equipment and Laboratory Facilities Handed Over to the Mongolian University of Science and Technology

Ulaanbaatar, April 15, 2025 /MONTSAME/. With financing from the “Higher Engineering Education Development” Project, training equipment and laboratory facilities have been handed over to the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST).

Under this Project, 428 pieces of equipment worth USD 395,000 and a laboratory have been provided to the University to develop digital content for engineering classes and promote online learning. The supplies include 275 pieces of “smart classroom” equipment installed in 11 classrooms, 67 equipment for the Open Education Center, and 86 equipment at the University library.

Procurement of training and research equipment has been carried out in stages under the framework of the “Higher Engineering Education Development” Project and related research programs under the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia. The Project aims at improving the academic and research environment at the National University of Mongolia (NUM), MUST, and the Mongolian University of Life Sciences (MULS), by establishing open laboratories equipped with modern, advanced technologies. These efforts are intended to elevate experimental research to international standards and enhance the capacity of faculty members and researchers.

The “Higher Engineering Education Development” Project aims at improving the academic and research facilities at the National University of Mongolia (NUM), MUST, and the Mongolian University of Life Sciences (MULS), by establishing open laboratories equipped with modern, advanced technologies. These efforts are intended to facilitate research experiments aligned with international standards and enhance the capacity of faculty members and researchers.

Between 2014-2025, laboratory equipment was procured in phases based on the specific needs and requirements of the three universities. As a result, 3,629 pieces of equipment and tools across 686 types, worth a total of USD 16.9 million, have been delivered to 91 laboratories at NUM and MUST. These educational tools were produced in accordance with international standards and are commonly used in technologically advanced countries.

Relevant authorities believe that the ongoing delivery of training and research equipment will make a tangible contribution to preparing highly skilled engineering and technology professionals in Mongolia who possess internationally accepted knowledge, skills, and experience.
