Transparency Is Not An Option…: Gagan Narang, Anjum Moudgil & Sharat Kamal Hail Sports Governance Bill 2025 | Sports
After the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, introduced the National Sports Governance Bill 2025 in the Parliament on Wednesday (July 23); Indian Sporting greats Gagan Narang, Anjum Moudgil & Sharat Kamal spoke to Times Now in an exclusive conversation on the law, which promises to bring a positive change to India’s sporting destiny with all federations including the Board of Control in Cricket in India (BCCI) set to come under its purview.
With India making a strong bid to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games and the 2036 Olympics, the bill will help solve several governance issues haunting Indian sport over the last few years.

Among the key points highlighted by Narang, Moudgil, and Kamal, it was the formation of a National Sports Tribunal, which they stated will help in ensuring players’ careers are not ruined with decisions on disputes being fast-tracked. They also stated that it will ensure transparency in the process.
Among other key measures taken up is that the age limit for administrators will be increased from 70 to 75, while sports bodies will come under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
